The Division of Academic and Technical Education (DATE) is responsible for helping all students acquire challenging academic and technical skills and be prepared for high-skill, high-wage, or high-demand occupations in the 21st century global economy.
OVAE's Career and Technical Education (CTE) initiatives are designed to:
- Administer state formula and discretionary grant programs under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act (Perkins)
- Provide assistance to states to improve program quality, implementation, and accountability
- Establish national initiatives that help states implement rigorous career and technical education programs
The Peer Collaborative Resource Network (PCRN) is a resource and information-sharing forum for state CTE professionals. It provides a peer-to-peer forum for states to improve their capacity to to promote quality CTE programs and collect quality data as it relates to the Perkins accountability requirements. The purpose of this site is to foster communication and encourage the exchange of innovative ideas and approaches among states.
