Secondary Student Populations:

Completer: A student who has attained at least 80% of the state-designated competencies for an approved VTE program (Levels I, II and III)

Concentrator: A student who completes two Carnegie units of a single VTE program. One Carnegie unit must be at Level III.

Tech Prep: An educational program that combines at least two years of secondary approved VTE program, two years of postsecondary career education, and contextual academic education at each level in a non-duplicative sequential course of study. An approved Tech Prep program of study will include documentation of articulation between secondary and postsecondary supervised by the Director of the approved local Consortia. The definitions for participant, concentrator and completer are applied to students who participate in and complete the secondary portion of a Tech Prep program.

Tech Prep: A tech prep secondary student is a student participating in an approved Tech Prep Associate Degree (TPAD) sequence of courses and has indicated intent (4-6 year program of study signed by student and parent on file) to follow the approved pathway.
