Secondary Student Populations:

Completer: A career and technology completer is a student with an assigned CIP code who has earned at least four Carnegie units in career and technology coursework leading to a career goal.

Concentrator: A vocational concentrator is any student who has been assigned a CIP code. CIP codes designate the specific career and technology program and are used for federal reporting and assessing the State Standards for Career and Technology Education Programs. These codes are used to identify students who are pursuing four units of credit in career and technology coursework leading to a career goal.

Tech Prep: Any student who is pursuing four units of credit in career and technology coursework leading to a career goal (same as a vocational concentrator). We are currently reviewing more specific criteria to define secondary and postsecondary Tech Prep students in line with the national initiative to define a Tech Prep student.
