Research shows that continued parent involvement in their adolescent child's education results in higher achievement. But both parents and teachers often believe it necessary for parents to limit involvement at that stage as their adolescent seeks autonomy. In fact, parents can still be involved, in developmentally appropriate ways, and teachers can foster this involvement.
