Careers for Wisconsin focuses on Web-based information and services. The Careers for Wisconsin Web site targets four areas: salary/wages, job stability, job preparation and current employment. The WISCareers Web site provides resources for students and education professionals. |

Health care and social assistance is the largest sector of employment, with manufacturing and retail trade as the next largest areas. Primary products include dairy products (milk, butter, cheese), farming (corn), machinery, paper manufacturing, beer and tourism. The high growth areas are health services, followed by business services and educational services.
The January 2006 unemployment rate was 4.5%, the same as in April 2005. |

• WC-Connections is a Web site that allows businesses to enter information about themselves and to indicate their willingness to volunteer for school-to-career activities.
• The Careers4WI Web site is designed for initial exploration, and over 12,000 people accessed information from that site. The WISCareers Web site is designed primarily to support career guidance and academic counseling. Over 118,000 new users established accounts on the WISCareers Web site during the year. Including returning users, almost one-half million young people and adults used the site with an average of 50 pages viewed per user.
