Perkins IV requires each state to submit, by December 31st of each year, a Consolidated Annual Report (CAR), which includes narrative responses, financial status reports, and enrollment and performance data on progress in achieving state levels of performance on the core indicators described in Title I of Perkins IV.

Office Hours at the 2016 Advance CTE Fall Meeting

The Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) welcomes state directors and their teams to meet with DATE staff members for guidance and assistance with career and technical education (CTE) and Perkins issues. Meetings will be held October 17-19 in the Maryland Room of the BWI Airport Marriott hotel (1743 W. Nursery Rd., Linthicum Heights, MD 21090). Registration is first come, first scheduled. Please register by October 12.

Application Deadline for 2016-17 Individualized Technical Assistance to States

The Division of Academic and Technical Education (DATE), in collaboration with contractors at RTI International, offers customized technical assistance to states on Perkins accountability issues. The technical assistance team invites states to submit an application for technical assistance each fall and selects states for participation through a competitive review process. Applications for the 2016-17 Individualized Technical Assistance to States will be accepted on a rolling basis until Friday, September 16, 2016.

Application Timeline Extended for Participation for CTE Leaders Academy

The Academy application seeks to identify interested and committed state teams of CTE leaders who can dedicate time and resources to the process and are willing to make the necessary strides in their states to advance career pathways. Application Forms must be submitted by 3:00 P.M. EST on June 10, 2016

Application Timeline Extended for Participation for Intensive Technical Assistance

OCTAE is offering states a year-long opportunity to receive in-depth and customized technical assistance (TA) in career pathways system development. We are seeking states willing to engage in intensive state-level TA and committed to meaningful career pathways system development. Selected states will work with a dedicated coach and engage in a readiness assessment, regular coaching sessions, topical webinars, and peer mentoring. Application Forms must be submitted by 3:00 P.M. EST on June 10, 2016.

P3 Grant - Bidder’s Conference

The Department of Education announced the availability of just over $3 million in funding for round two of the Performance Pilot Partnership (P3) program. A collaboration among seven Federal agencies, the P3 program enables pilot sites to test innovative, outcome-focused strategies to achieve significant improvements in educational, employment, and other key outcomes for disconnected youth using new flexibility to blend existing Federal funds and to seek waivers of associated program requirements.

Please note that Federal agency representatives will host a Bidder’s Conference for round two P3 grants during this session.

Additional Information

The Department expects to award approximately 10 new awards for up to a 3 year period. Interested applicants are asked, but not required, to submit a notice of intent to apply by May 26, 2016. Applications are due on June 27, 2016.
