College & Career Transition Initiative

This initiative, administered through a grant to the League for Innovation in the Community College, provides funds to partnerships among postsecondary institutions, secondary schools, and employers to develop rigorous career and technical education programs of study in the broad occupational areas of:

• Health science
• Information technology
• Education and training
• Science, technology, engineering, and mathmatics (STEM)
• Law, public safety, and security

These programs of study, aligning course offerings at the secondary level with increasingly advanced academic and technical courses at the postsecondary level, will equip students with the skills and credentials required for success in high-skill, high-wage or, high-demand occupations. Fifteen partnerships have received CCTI grants to date. No new grant opportunities are currently scheduled.
