Each Year under Perkins V, Congress appropriates roughly $1.4 billion in State formula grants and over $30 million in competitive discretionary grants specified in the law for the improvement of career and technical education (CTE) programs across the nation. In addition, the Department occasionally uses funds to award grants for specialized purposes.

Seeking Federal Peer Reviewers
Native American Career and Technical Education Program
The U.S. Department of Education is seeking peer reviewers for the Fiscal Year 2025 Native American Career and Technical Education Program (NACTEP) grant competition, to be held over three - four consecutive weeks starting in mid-March and concluding in mid-April. The purpose of the NACTEP grant is to provide career and technical education programs for Native Americans and Alaska Natives students.
If you are interested in serving as a peer reviewer for the NACTEP grant competition, please send your resume (maximum of 5 pages) to NACTEP@ed.gov by February 14, 2025.
